The Rent (Amendment) Act, 2018

An Act to amend the Rent Act.
[11th April, 2018
ENACTED by the Parliament of Zambia.
1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Rent (Amendment) Act,
2018, and shall be read as one with the Rent Act, in this Act referred
to as the principal Act.
2. Section 2 of the principal Act is amended by the deletion of
the definition of “Court” and the substitution therefor of the
following:
“court” means—
(a) in relation to premises for which the rent demanded
exceeds one hundered thousand kwacha per year, the
High Court; and
(b) in relation to all other permises, a subordinate court of the
first class;
