An Act to amend the Registration of Business Names Act. [16th April, 2010
ENACTED by the Parliament of Zambia. This Act may be cited as the Registration of Business Names
(Amendment) Act, 2010, and shall be read as one with the
Registration of Business Names Act, in this Act referred to as the
principal Act. Section two of the principal Act is amended by the insertion
in the appropriate places of the following new definitions:
"Agency" means the Patents and Companies Registration
Agency established under section three of the Patents and
Companies Registration Agency Act, 2010; and
"Registrar" means the person appointed as Registrar under
section fourteen of the Patents and Companies Registration
Agency Act, 2010. Section twelve of the principal Act is amended-
(a)by the deletion of the marginal note thereto and the
substitution therefor of the following new marginal note:
Duty to furnish particulars to Registrar; and
(b)by the deletion of the word "Minister" wherever it
appears and the substitution therefor of the word
"Registrar".

Section fifteen of the principal Act is amended in subsection
(1), by the deletion of the proviso thereto and the substitution therefor
of the following new proviso:
Provided that the Registrar may, on reasonable cause
therefor being shown, extend the time as the Registrar
may consider necessary. 5. Section eighteen of the principal Act is amended by the
insertion immediately after the word "instrument" of the words
"on the recommendation of the Agency,". Enactment
