Short title and commence- ment Cap. 472 An Act to amend the Public Roads Act. [12th June, 2026 ENACTED by the Parliament of Zambia 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Public Roads (Amendment) Act, 2026, and shall be read as one with the Public Roads Act, in this Act referred to as the principal Act. (2) This Act shall come into operation on the expiry of the term of office, or removal by the Minister, of the members of the Board holding office prior to the enactment of this Act, after which the Minister shall appoint the members of the Board in accordance with this Act. 2. ard holding office prior to the enactment of this Act, after which the Minister shall appoint the members of the Board in accordance with this Act. 2. Box 30136, 10101 Lusaka, Price K4.00 each. “Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors” means the Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors established under the Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors Act, 2024. 3. Section 6 of the principal Act is amended by the deletion of subsections (1), (2) and (3) and the substitution therefor of the following: (1) There is constituted the Board of the Agency which consists of the following part-time members appointed by the Minister: (a) a representative each from the ministries responsible for— (i) infrastructure; (ii) finance; and (iii) local government; (b) a representative of the Attorney- General; (c) a representative of the Engineering Institution of Zambia; (d) a representative of the Zambia Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport; (e) a representative of the Zambia Institute of Quantity Surveyors; (f) a representative of a civil society organisation with knowledge and experience in matters relevant to this Act; and (g) one person from the private sector with knowledge and experience in matters relevant to this Act. experience in matters relevant to this Act; and (g) one person from the private sector with knowledge and experience in matters relevant to this Act. (2) The Director of the Road Transport and Safety Agency and the Director of the National Road Fund Agency shall be ex-officio members of the Board and shall have no vote.
