Short title and commence- ment Cap. 319 An Act to amend the National HIV/AIDS/STI/TB Council Act. [ 12th June, 2026 ENACTED by the Parliament of Zambia. 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the National HIV/AIDS/STI/ TB Council (Amendment) Act, 2026, and shall be read as one with the National HIV/AIDS/STI/TB Council Act, in this Act referred to as the principal Act. (2) This Act shall come into operation on the expiry of the term of office, or removal by the Minister, of the members of the Council holding office prior to the enactment of this Act, after which the Minister shall appoint the members of the Council in accordance with this Act. 2. The principal Act is amended by the repeal of section 5 and the substitution therefor of the following: 5. (1) The Council consists of the following part-time members appointed by the Minister: (a) a representative each from the ministries responsible for— (i) health; (ii) finance; (iii) local government; and (iv) community development; (b) a representative of the Attorney-General; National HIV/AIDS/STI/TB Council (Amendment) [No. 50 of 2026 693 Enactment GOVERNMENT OF ZAMBIA ACT No. (b) a representative of the Attorney-General; National HIV/AIDS/STI/TB Council (Amendment) [No. 50 of 2026 693 Enactment GOVERNMENT OF ZAMBIA ACT No. 50 of 2026 Date of Assent: 4th June, 2026 Repeal and replacement of section 5 Single Copies of this Act can be obtained from the Government Printer, P.O. Box 30136, 10101, Lusaka, Price K4.00 each (c) a representative of the Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry; (d) a representative of a civil society organisation dealing with people living with HIV; (e) a representative of a civil society organisation engaged in research and academia; (f) a representative of a religious organisation; (g) a representative of an association representing traditional, complementary and alternative medicines; and (h) a representaive of a recognised youth organisation. (2) The ministries, institutions and organisations referred to in subsection (1) shall nominate their representatives for appointment by the Minister. (3) The Minister shall appoint the Chairperson from among the members of the Council. (4) The members shall elect the Vice- Chairperson from among themselves. 3.
