An Act to amend the Judges (Conditions of Service)
Act. [ 29th July, 2022
ENACTED by the Parliament of Zambia. 1. This Act may be cited as the Judges (Conditions of Service)
(Amendment) Act, 2022, and shall be read as one with the Judges
(Conditions of Service) Act, in this Act referred to as the principal
Act. 2. Section 2 of the principal Act is amended by the —
(a) deletion of the definition of “emoluments” and the
substitution therefor of the following:
“emoluments” has the meaning assigned to the word
in the Constitution;; and
(b) insertion of the following new definition in the appropriate
place in alphabetical order:
“Emoluments Commission” means the Emoluments
Commission established by the Constitution;. 3. The principal Act is amended by the repeal of section 3 and
the substitution therefor of the following:
3. There is paid to a Judge emoluments that the
Emoluments Commission shall, on the recommendation of
the President, determine. 4. Section 12(2) of the principal Act is amended by the
insertion of the words “in consultation with the Emoluments
Commission,” immediately after the word “may,”. Amendment
