The Engineering Institution of Zambia (Amendment) Act, 2021

AnAct to amend the Engineering Institution of Zambia Act, 2010. [20thMay,2021
ENACTED by the Parliament of Zambia. 1. This Act may be cited as the Engineering Institution of
Zambia (Amendment) Act, 2021, and shall be read as one with the
Engineering Institution of Zambia Act, 2010, in this Act referred to
as the principal Act. 2. Section 2 of the principal Act is amended by the insertion
of the following new definitions in the appropriate places in
alphabetical order:
“Higher Education Authority” means the Higher Education
Authority established under the Higher Education Act, 2013;
and
“Zambia Qualifications Authority” means the Zambia
Qualifications Authority established under the Zambia
Qualifications Authority Act, 2011;. 3. Section 4 of the principal Act is amended—
(a) in subsection (1) by the—
(i) deletion of paragraph (m); and
(ii) renumbering of paragraphs (n), (o), and (p) as
paragraphs (m), (n) and (o), respectively; and

(b) in subsection (2) by the —
(i) deletion of paragraph (c); and
(ii) renumbering of paragraph (d) as paragraph (c).
4. Section 17 of the principal Act is amended—
(a) in subsection (1), by the deletion of paragraph (c) and the
substitution therefor of the following:
(c) holds a qualification accredited and recognised
by the Zambia Qualifications Authority;; and
(b) by the deletion of subsection (3).
5. Section 44 of the principal Act is amended by the—
(a) deletion of subsection (1); and
(b) renumbering of subsections (2), (3) and (4) as subsections
(1), (2) and (3), respectively.
6. Section 62 (2) of the principal Act is amended—
(a) in paragraph (f), by the insertion of the words “accredited
and recognised by the Zambia Qualifications Authority”
immediately after the word “qualifications”;
(b) by the deletion of paragraph (g); and
(c) by the renumbering of paragraphs (h), (i),(j),(k) and (l)
as paragraphs (g),(h), (i),(j) and (k), respectively.
