Roads and Road Traffic [No. 4 of 1997 13 (Amendment) GOVERNMENT OF ZAMBIA ACT N o . 4 o f l 9 9 7 Date of assent: 12th April, 1997 An Act to amend the Roads and Road Traffic Act [18th April, 1997 ENACTED by the Parliament of Zambia. Enactment 1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Roads and Road Traffic Short title (Amendment) Act, 1997, and shall be read as one with the Roads a n d n m j C n c e . and Road Traffic Act, in this Act referred to as the principal Act. ment Cap.464 (2) This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1 st February, 1997. 2. The principal Act is amended— (a) in subsection (7) of section sixty-six by the deletion of— (i) the colon after the word " thereon " and the substitution therefor of a full-stop; and (ii) the proviso. (b) by the addition after section sixty-six of the following new section: 66A. (2) Not with standing subsection (1), any person who has been issued with a registration book for a motor vehicle or trailer under this Act shall, after the commencement of this section, surrender such regis tration book to the licensing officer who shall, upon payment by such person of a fee of five hundred and fifty-six fee units, re-register that motor vehicle or trailer and issue that person with a new registration book. (3) A registration book issued before the com mencement of this section shall not be valid after the 1st April, 1997. Amendment 3. The principal Act is amended in section one hundred and of section 119 nineteen by the deletion of subsection (1) and the substitution therefor of the following. (1) There shall be payable in respect of a driving licence such fee as shall be prescribed by the Minister by statutory instrument. Repeal of 4. The principal Act is amended by the repeal of the Third Third Schedule.
