An Act to Amend the Mines and Minerals Act

ENACTED by the Parliament of Zambia. 1 . ( 1 ) This Act may be cited as the Mines and Minerals
(Amendment) Act, 2002, and shall be read as one with the Mines
and Minerals Act, in this Act referred to as the principal Act. (2) This Act shall come into operation on the 1st April, 2002. 2. Section two of the principal Act is amended by the insertion
of the following new definition:
" Former Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Limited " means
any mining division or metal treatment operation of Zambia
Consolidated Copper Mines Limited sold under the
Privatisation Act. 3. Section sixty-six of the principal Act is amended in subsection
(1) by the deletion of full the stop after the words " two per centum "
and the insertion of the words " except in the case of the former
Zambia Consolidated Copper Mining Company where the rate shall
be zero point six per centum " .
