Land Survey (Amendment) An Act to amend the Land Survey Act. [ 20th May, 2021 ENACTED by the Parliament of Zambia. 1. This Act may be cited as the Land Survey (Amendment) Act, 2021, and shall be read as one with the Land Survey Act, in this Act referred to as the principal Act. 2. Section 2 of the principal Act is amended by the insertion of the follwoing new definitions in the appropriate places in alphabetical order: “document” has the meaning assigned to the word in the Lands and Deeds Registry Act; “digital signature” has the meaning assigned to the words in the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2021; “electronic signature” has the meaning assigned to the words in the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2021. 3. A diagram, general plan and survey record may be issued and maintained in electronic form as prescribed. 31B. (1) A document authorised or required to be filed with, or delivered to, the Surveyor-General in accordance with this Act, may be filed or delivered by means of a device or facility that records or stores information electronically as prescribed. (2) A document required to be signed, issued or kept by the Surveyor-General may be signed, issued or kept in electronic form. (3) A signature for the purpose of this Act includes an electronic or digital signature. (4) A document delivered to the Surveyor-General, which appears to the Surveyor-General to be incomplete may be corrected electronically, by the Surveyor-General or the Land surveyor who delivered the document.
