Act to cease to have effect CHAPTER 437 The Laws of Zambia Copyright Ministry of Legal Affairs, Government of the Republic of Zambia HIGHER AUTHORITY FOR POWER (SPECIAL PROVISIONS) 41 of 1970 An Act to provide for the membership of the Higher Authority for Power constituted by the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland (Dissolution) Order in Council, 1963. [1st October, 1970] 1. This Act may be cited as the Higher Authority for Power (Special Provisions) Act. Short title 2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires- Interpretation "the amending Order" means the Southern Rhodesia (Higher Authority for Power) Order, 1970, an Order in Council of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, made on the 12th June, 1970; "the Higher Authority" means the Higher Authority for Power constituted by the principal Order; "the principal Order" means the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland (Dissolution) Order in Council, 1963. App. 1 3. nstituted by the principal Order; "the principal Order" means the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland (Dissolution) Order in Council, 1963. App. 1 3. (1) For so long as this Act is in force and notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in the principal Order, the Higher Authority shall consist of four members of whom two shall be Ministers of the Government of Zambia appointed by the Government of Zambia and two shall be persons appointed under the amending Order. Constitution of Higher Authority (2) The persons appointed under the amending Order shall hold office upon such terms and for such period as may be provided by or under the amending Order. 4. A certificate under the hand of the Minister certifying that any person named therein is, or was on any specified date, a member of the Higher Authority shall be received in all proceedings as conclusive proof of the matters certified therein. Certificate under hand of Minister 5. (1) The provisions of this Act shall cease to have effect upon such date as the Minister may, by statutory instrument, notify. Act to cease to have effect (2) The provisions of section fourteen of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act shall apply when this Act ceases to have effect as they apply when a written law repeals another written law.
