Extradition (Amendment) Act, 2020

An Act to amend the Extradition Act.

ENACTED by the Parliament of Zambia.
1. This Act may be cited as the Extradition (Amendment)
Act, 2020, and shall be read as one with the Extradition Act, in this
Act referred to as the principal Act.
2. Section 6 of the principal Act is amended by
the insertion of the —
(a) figure “(1)” immediately after “6”; and
(b) following new subsections:
(2) The Attorney-General may apply simplified
extradition measures where the person sought
by a requesting State consents before a
Magistrate to be surrendered to that State.
(3) The Attorney-General may, by statutory
instrument, prescribe measures for simplified
extradition and for monitoring the execution of
a request made under this section.
