Bretton Woods Agreements (Ammendment)

An Act to amend the Bretton Woods Agreement Act. [19th November, 2010
ENACTED by the Parliament of Zambia. 1. This Act may be cited as the Bretton Woods Agreement
(Amendment) Act, 2010, and shall be read as one with the Bretton
Woods Agreement Act, in this Act referred to as the principal Act. 2. Section two of the principal Act is amended by the insertion,
in the appropriate place, of the following new definition:
“ approved amendments of 2008 ” means the amendments to
the Fund Agreement approved by the Board of Governors
of the Fund in Resolution 63-2 of 28th April, 2008, and
Resolution 63-3 of 5th May, 2008

Section three of the principal Act is amended—
(a) in paragraph (c), by the deletion of the word “and” after
the semi-colon;
(b) in paragraph (d), by the deletion of the full-stop at the end
of that paragraph and the substitution therefor of a semi-
colon and the word “and”; and
(c) by the insertion, immediately after paragraph (d), of the
following new paragraph:
(e) to accept the approved amendments of 2008 and
to execute and deposit with the Fund, an
instrument stating that the Government of
Zambia has accepted the proposed amendment
of the Articles of Agreement of the Fund to
enhance voice and participation in the Fund and
expand the investment authority of the Fund. Enactment
