Section 5 of N.L.C.D. 177 amended 1 ACT 746 REPUBLIC OF GHANA THE SEVEN HUNDRED AND FORTY-SIX ACT OF THE PARLIAMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA ENTITLED THE RESTRICTION ON USE OF MILITARY UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2008 AN ACT to amend N.L.C.D. 177 to enhance the penalty for breach of the provisions under the Decree. DATE OF ASSENT: 4th January, 2008. ENACTED by the President and Parliament Section 1—Section 4 of N.L.C.D. 177 substituted The Restriction on use of Military Uniforms and Equipment Decree, 1967 (N.L.C.D. 177) referred to as the principal enactment is amended by the substitution for section 4 of the following: "Offence 4. (1) A person who contravenes a provision of this Decree commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of not less than 50 penalty units and not exceeding 200 penalty units or to a term of imprisonment of not less than three months and not exceeding twelve months or to both". Section 2—Section 5 of N.L.C.D. penalty units or to a term of imprisonment of not less than three months and not exceeding twelve months or to both". Section 2—Section 5 of N.L.C.D. 177 amended Section 5 of the principal enactment is amended as follows: (a) by the deletion of paragraph (a); and (b) in paragraph (b), by the deletion of "Police and Prisons Services" and the insertion of the following: "Police Service, the Prisons Service, the Customs, Excise and Preventive Service, the Immigration Service and the National Fire Service". 2 Date of Gazette Notification: 4th January, 2008. 3
