enacts the law set out below:
Section 1: The provisions of Sections 8, 11 and 37 of Law No. 2006/16 of 29
December 2006 to lay down the organization and functioning of the Supreme
Court are amended and supplemented as follows:
Section 8: (new) The Judicial Bench shall comprise :
- A Civil Division ;
- A Commercial Division;
- A Criminal Division;
- A Labour Division;
- A Common Law Division;
- A Customary Law Division . Section 11: (new)
(1) Each division shall be composee as follows :
- a President;
- at least two Justices of the Supreme Court;
- one or more Advocates General. (2) The panel of Judges of a division shall at ail timesbe composed of an odd
number of judges. (3) The Judicial Officers appointed to the Common Law Division must have. an
Anglo-Saxon legal background. Section 37: (new) The Judicial Bench shall have jurisdiction to hear and
determine:
(a) final decisions ofcourts and tribunals on civil, commercial, criminal , labour '
and customary law cases and matters governed by Common law; . (b) final de~isions emanating from 10INer .

(c) application ' for release -in the case of an admissible appeal ;

Sect ion 37 -1 ; The Common Law Division shall have jurisdiction, in matters
relating ta Common law , to hear appeals against:
- final decisions of tribunals;
- judgments of courts of appeal."
Section 2: This law, which repeals ail previous provis ions repugnant hereto,
s haH be registered, publ ished acco rding to the procedu re of urgency and
inserted in the Official Gazette in Engl ish and French .!-
